Adventures with Users
While reading Shark Tank, I was reminded of an incident several years ago.
I was doing support at a small business. Most of the systems ran Windows 98, but there were a few die-hard Mac users. I didn’t support the Macs, but people would still come to me with Mac questions.
“Do you have the MacOS CD,” one user asked? She pronounced it “Mac Ohse,” like it was a cereal.
I try to correct her. “You mean Mac Oh Ess, ” I ask?
“No,” she says confidently, “Mac Ohse. It’s different.”
