Got the carburetor pulled and disassembled today. Cleaned it out, though it didn’t look that bad. It’s going to the machine shop to get a new bushing for the throttle plate rod. So later this week, it should be good

Got my new points & condenser installed the other day.
I strongly recommend that nobody ever buy Wells brand anything for ACVWs. The condenser is a cheap piece of crap that didn’t fit properly.

Guess what, I was right. Congressmen are trying to repeal the 22nd Amendment (term limits). Except it was introduced by Democrats instead of Republicans. What the hell? Do they think that they can run Clinton again? Screw that, I don’t want even the remotest chance of Bush as president after this term.

Installed my new speedo cable today. It wasn’t as hard as I had been led to believe. Speedo is much more accurate, but still floaty once you hit 40-50mph. I met a guy who’s selling Ghia gauges for $5 a pop, so I’m going to stock up and hope I find something good.
