I just ordered all the hardware to mount up my rear bumper from Karmann Ghia Parts & Restoration. The bumper is actually for an earlier year, and is the “towel-bar” style. My rear apron doesn’t have the bolt holes for these, so I’m just pulling them off until I can get some real blade bumpers.
I also got new heater control cables, and a new speedometer cable. So after I get everything installed, I’ll be street legal, have ventilation and know how fast I’m going.
I’m also trying to get a new Solex 30PICT-2 carburetor, since mine needs to be rebuilt and I don’t want to be stuck if I accidently destroy it. I’m also going to get some new plugs, plug wires, and points, adjust the timing, and readjust the valves.
