Tune-up

I had a really crappy day at work, so I went to tinker with my Ghia to take my mind off it.

I readjusted the valves (they were all too loose), set the carb’s idle air screw properly, checked my points, and adjusted my timing. And let me advise anyone working on ACVWs: when you take the distributor off to check your points, mark were it was lined up on the case. I neglected to do this and had to blindly fiddle with it to get it close enough to run, then make the final adjustment.

Hopefully later this week, I’ll be getting new points, condenser, plugs, and wires. That combined with the carb rebuild should put me in good shape mechanically.
