Ignition is mostly done

Got the new plugs & wires installed tonight. Pretty straightforward stuff, though feeding the #1/#2 plug wires between the fan shroud and intake manifold is sure no fun. Neither is gapping plugs, for that matter.

The old plugs were absolutely coated in black soot, which means I am (or was) running too rich. I think it was just the leaky old carb that caused this, but I’ll let the new plugs settle down, then pull one and see how things look.

She seems to run a bit better before she’s fully warmed up, but it’s not a drastic change. But, every little improvement adds up.

Perhaps I’ll get around to installing the Compu-Fire before the weekend.
