Al Gore, of all people, wrote this alternatingly scathing and thoughtful piece about the state of democracy in the U.S. He brings up many different issues I’ve noticed, and I largely agree with him. I hope his high profile brings some of these issues to light.

So, while I couldn’t get Qwest’s spiffy new high-speed DSL when it was first rolled out, I checked again, and it looks like I can get the 5mbit service. It should be installed on Thursday.
