If you need FFmpeg to encode them to a different format, the iPod does not play them. It plays the reencoded format.

I recently recieved a video ipod, and i love it. The problem i am having is not the quality of the video, but the fact that IT WONT PLAY ANY SOUND!! Any help at all would be VERY much appreciated.

Ipods will play Xvid if the audio is in aac and the resolution is correct. (either 320×240 or 640×480)

(you can use ffmpeg to encode these files)

I don’t think smaller videos work.

GMC-encoded files tend not to work.
