I found an ’88 MR2 (NA, T-Tops) on Craigslist a while back. It looked good, but was a bit more than I wanted to pay. I watched as it got relisted a couple times, eventually going down to $2500. Well, I’m picking it up Monday (or maybe Tuesday, depends on whether the bank is closed or not) for $2100. It’s precisely the wrong shade of black, but it’s in good shape and will definitely be more fun to drive than my Corolla sedan. The engine is in the right place, the proper wheels turn when you press the gas pedal, and it has the perfect number of seats and doors.
Should be a blast. I can’t wait.
