The MacBook Pro did indeed arrive on Monday. It’s an amazingly awesome piece of hardware. I do notice The Whine, but it’s not a deal-breaker for me. I’ll stick it out and see if a solution comes up. Worst case, I sent it in for repair in a few months when demand has dropped.

I picked up a (very) cheap messenger bag for it. It’s about what I want, but it’s cheap (nylon) and not very well thought out w.r.t it’s pocket size and placement. But it seems to be the only thing close to what I want - a simple messenger bag with a few pockets for the power supply and few accessories I need. Everything seems to be too stark (plain sleeve) or massive overkill (30 pound rolling fold-up desk). I want something in the middle. Minimal, well thought out, and put together from quality materials.

Emacs works on it. It’s slow, since it’s using Rosetta, but it works.

Front Row is awesome.

Got a call from the apartment people yesterday. Said things were looking good, they were checking my references, and expect things to go through today.
