“Nice rack.”

I spent a good part of this week installing a new switch at our datacenter. The old 24-port LinkSys gigabit switch was starting to flake out, so we got a 48-port HP ProCurve managed switch. It’s very sexy.

Switch and cabling
There’s the new switch, with the logging/stats server above it, primary DNS server, and our NetApp. Check out that clean cabling.

Cabling close-up
Close-up of the cabling. Green cables are for the internal network, red/yellow for systems in the DMZ (I ran out of red cables). The switch is set up with a VLAN for the internal and DMZ networks.

I feel incredibly anal-retentive right now.

Database servers and Google Search Appliance
Database servers, Google Search Appliance, development server, mail server, rackmount console, and the Cisco 3600 the links up the office to the facility.

Web nodes and firewall
Web serving nodes, secondary DNS, and firewall/LVS servers.
