I picked up one of the spiffy new iPod shuffles last Friday. This thing is ridiculously small. I’ll probably lose it within a week. It sure is cool, though.

My only real complaint is that it forgoes the hold switch for an on/off switch. If you want to toggle hold mode, you have to press play/pause for three seconds. This makes no sense to me.

The other issue is that it may be impossible to listen to while it charges, since the headphone jack doubles as the USB port. It certainly isn’t possible with the included dock, but it may be doable with a third-party cable. That would be nice, but it’s not a deal killer — twelve hours of battery life is just fine.
