The new iMac

I don’t like it. It seems like it’s trying to be retro chic, but end up just looking retro. I decided to withhold judgement until I saw one in person; the pictures just didn’t look flattering. They are slightly better in person, but not as good as i had hoped. I don’t much care for the design of the iPhone; I hoped they would refine it in subsequent revisions. Unfortunately, it seems they have taken the opposite tack, and started redesigning their other devices to match it.

I loathe glossy screens. I was extremely disappointed that they stopped offering the matte screen. Jobs says that consumers want glossy screens. Since when has Apple been in the business of giving people what they want? They should be telling people what they want. People want stupid things. People want glossy screens playing stretched video.

Oh, and the keyboard. It’s terrible. And what about people who want full-size bluetooth keyboards, such as myself? We’re left with no option at all. The best thing I can say about the keyboard is that I hope it spurs some good third party options.

I’m not quite fond of the black border around the screen, gives it kind of a sheltered dark feeling, but aside from that I love mine. The keyboard is awesome in my opinion.

I thought I would hate the keyboard, but I actually really like typing on it.

The glossy screen is not my cup of tea at all. I just don’t understand why that’s the only option!!
