Most irritating Leopard problem ever.

I have a custom hostname set on my machine, because “Ian-Eures-Computer” just doesn’t do it for me. Here’s how I have it set up:

Clearly, something is not right here. I’ve had it change to several different values, all names of public internet sites, seemingly at random. It makes no sense.

    I had the same problem, Ian.

    Here’s the solution. As root, set hostname on the command line: hostname -s “your hostname”
    That fixed my problem!
